“Thank you so much for everything. You really helped us to relax and enjoy our day and the photos look amazing!”

I had the great pleasure of joining Zoe and Josh as their Star Inn Harome wedding photographer for their intimate and relaxed countryside wedding on Saturday.

The couple

Zoe and Josh got in touch with me last winter. They were planning to have an intimate Yorkshire wedding and were looking for their Star Inn wedding photographer as they really wanted some beautiful wedding photos. At the same time, they felt very nervous about having their picture taken. Especially with it being such a small wedding you really need to make sure you find the right photographer. There is no way of getting rid of us during the day ;). We met for a coffee and instantly got on well. A pre-wedding photo shoot in Rowntree’s Park in York helped to blow away the last wedding photo fears and I was so happy to hear that they both managed to feel relaxed whilst I was able to capture their wonderful day.

The venue

The Star Inn Harome has a wonderful country lodge style feel to it. Harome is a small village nestled within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and I already felt relaxed arriving at the venue after my beautiful, countryside drive. My first wedding photo of the day is of two chickens who greeted me at my car door. For small weddings for of up to 40 people the Star Inn provides the Cross House Lodge which is just across from the beautiful Star Inn with its newly renovated thatched roof. Zoe and Josh where able to book all nine rooms for their guests which meant they had all the communal areas to themselves. As a result this created a cosy, intimate atmosphere combined with Michelin starred food.

Wedding photography at the Star Inn Harome

I had an absolutely wonderful day working as Zoe and Josh’s Star Inn Harome wedding photographer.┬áSome of my photography highlights included the beautiful ceremony room with amazing flower arrangements by Queens Flowers, going for a couple of walks around the village for some relaxed couples portraits, the chickens everywhere to join in the wedding celebrations, guests enjoying the sunshine and lawn games and the beautiful set up of bunting and fairy lights in the patio area which provided a great back drop for an end of evening wedding photo.
