My first post lockdown York wedding

Today was super extra special as it was my first wedding since lockdown and I couldn’t have been happier then spending it photographing Samara and James’s beautiful little wedding in York.

The couple originally planned to have me photograph their big wedding at the Grange Hotel in York this April but had to postpone their big celebration until next year. Therefore it made me even happier that I could be with them today to photograph their little registry office wedding in York. They got only 10 days notice to get everything ready. Well done you two. You looked amazing!

As Samara is originally from Brazil and none of her family could attend I made sure to video the wedding ceremony for my couple. It was a first for me but it worked. Yay! Getting creative in these difficult times is a challenge and exciting.

Besides hand sanitiser and spread out chairs it all felt totally normal and wonderful. A big thank you to the staff at York registry office who made sure that we where all safe and still able to celebrate this special wedding day. The past three months seemed like forgotten in an instant and I was more than happy to be able to do my wonderful job again celebrating love and unity. It is THE BEST.

After the ceremony we had time for a couple of socially distant group pictures in the garden of York registry office and afterwards we went for a walk in the beautiful museum gardens in York for some couple portraits.
