“Me, myself and I”
It is worth getting in touch if you are either
a) looking for an ace photographer
b) want to know where you can find the best greasy spoon ever
Hi! I’m Alice and I’m a natural wedding and family photographer based in the beautiful city of York, shooting weddings all over Yorkshire and also in my hometown Munich. I live in a cosy, old terraced house together with my partner in crime, Nik, and our four year old son Oskar who loves to go to the hairdressers because that’s where he can put on his “Dracula costume”.
Three things that make me
Supa Dupa Fly
New music on Spotify. atm I am in love with Loyle Carner and Ray BLK.
Going on trains. I once went all the way from hull to Istanbul over land and it was epic.
Seeing all the new inventions people come up with to help save our planet. Bamboo Toothbrush? Oh, yeah!
My favourite things in the world are meeting new people, appreciating all the wonderful things in life (like the flowers in my tiny garden and my evening fixes of Peep Show, Call the Midwife or Sex and the City) and yes, I admit it, bookkeeping. When I’m not shooting weddings you’ll find me dancing, baking or visiting museums with Oskar or in my favourite coffee shop reading my political magazine, people watching and listening to German hip-hop on Spotify (this I get to do about once a year so to me it’s even better than a spa break!). I couldn’t live without my friends and family, books and music. I spend a lot of time planning future adventures and nothing makes me happier than laughing with my friends.
My love of people and photography (and the alleged people watching that comes with it) is what inspired me to become a wedding photographer. I’ve been a wedding photographer for three years and I love it so much. Celebrating love and unity. More of that please! Have a look at some pictures here. The best thing about it is that I get to share one of the best days ever with my couples, capture love for generations to come, and eat cake!
My couples just want to be themselves, and the last thing they want is a photographer who makes them pose all day and takes over their wedding day. My wedding photography style is relaxed and honest (if you ever find me telling someone to press their tongue against their top of their mouth to make their face look thinner, then please tell me to retire. It’s a thing!). I capture all the beautiful and special moments, and let you get on with having an awesome day. For me the bit I love the most about a wedding day is the ceremony and speeches, because I love a good laugh (and sometimes a cry!).
Your wedding is all about having a wonderful time with your favourite people. You don’t care about having all the “things” or formalities – you just want to celebrate your love and be completely yourself. If this sounds like you and you don’t think I am a total hippy (or maybe you do and you like it) then get in touch!
